Sirous Dinmohammadi Pays Tribute to Fathollahzadeh

Sirous Dinmohammadi, the former player of Esteghlal FC, says better players need to be transferred to the club for next season. Esteghlal has recently claimed the title of Iran Pro League by garnering 67 points from 33 matches.

“This season was extremely difficult and important for Esteghlal FC. The team had lost easy matches and points, but players managed to make it. Esteghlal had an integrated squad and technical cadre, which helped the club to win Iran Pro League title.” Sirous Dinmohammadi, Esteghlal coach, said on Monday.

He believes the positive relations between Ali Fathollahzadeh, president of Esteghlal, and Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach, had an important role in this achievement. “Of course, their unity was really constructive. This kind of partnerships is unique in country, and I hope they continue working with each other in future.”

After winning the title of Persian Gulf League, Amir Ghalenoei announced that he will not be a member of Esteghlal technical cadre in next season. “Maybe he has made his decision. But we need to hold a session with team officials in order to express our concerns and talk about our future plans. By the way, I cannot confirm Amir’s decision about leaving Esteghlal.” Sirous Dinmohammadi added.

According to local media reports, Farhad Majidi, the current captain of Esteghlal FC, will announce his retirement from football at the end of this season. “I have not heard this before. I believe he can still play for Esteghlal, because he is a valuable member for the team.” Dinmohammadi concluded.
