Moharram Navidkia Pleased with Winning Iran's Hazfi Cup

Moharram Navidkia, the captain of Sepahan FC, says Hazfi Cup championship was a gift to Sepahan’s loyal fans. Isfahanis didn’t perform very well in AFC Champions League, and they failed to win the title of Iran’s Persian Gulf League where Esteghlal grabbed the cup.

“I am really happy for winning Hazfi Cup. It was very important for us to make fans satisfied of our performance in this season. We failed to win the title of Iran Pro League, and the team was knocked out in group phase of AFC Champions League. So, I believe this championship can help us to recover ourselves from bad incidents happened to us over past season.” Moharram Navidkia said.

Regarding the importance of Hazfi Cup, Moharram said: “I think this competition is not as important as Iran Pro League. By the way, I am happy for Traktor Sazi and Foolad clubs, which qualified for the next version of AFC Champions League.”

Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of Esteghlal, has previously recommended Team Melli’s coaches to select Navidkia for international matches. “At this time, I’m not interested in talking about Iran national football team. I have not yet recovered fully from my injury, so I’m not really able to give my 100% to Team Melli.”

Although Moharram Navidkia is currently the captain of Sepahan FC, he doesn’t know if he will play for Isfahan-based club in next season. “Let me talk about this subject later. I have not yet negotiated with team officials.”
