Member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Esmail Kowsari says Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of Islamic Republic, was disloyal to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) despite receiving exemplary services and support from this armed force.
“During the recent years, IRGC has served the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and this institution has supported Iranian government many times. But Ahmadinejad’s behavior against IRGC is not acceptable. Sepah has introduced efficient members and persons to Ahmadinejad but he has shown his unfaithfulness to IRGC.” Mohammad Esmail Kowsari remarked. The lawmaker used to serve as a commander of IRGC during the last three years of Iran-Iraq war.
“Reza Taghipour, former head of Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, was one of the best ministers in Ahmadinejad’s cabinet but he dismissed Taghipour without any logical reason and appointed one of his friends for that important post.” Mohammad Esmail Kowsari added. Ahmadinejad has selected Ali Nikzad as the new IT minister of the country.
“Ahmadinejad had a great connection with IRGC forces during the first round of his presidency. In second term he changed his mind about Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps and cut his cooperation with this organization. It was very hard to expect this manner from Ahmadinejad because he was a conservative nominee.” Kowsari concluded.
Recently the tensions between IRGC and the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have been increased significantly.
