Esteghlal FC only needs three more points to claim the title of Iran Pro League. Last week, their main rival Sepahan FC failed to secure three points in a match against Damash, and now Esteghlal has a great chance to become the champion of Iran’s Persian Gulf League. Most local analysts don’t have any doubt about the championship of Esteghlal, but Khosro Heydari says their mission “still not accomplished”.

Talking to our reporter in Tehran, he said: “Thanks god, we are in great conditions. But our players and technical team must be aware, our mission still not accomplished. From the next two matches, we need to pick up at least three points to secure our championship, but the task is very difficult.”

Esteghlal must face Foolad and Damash respectively. “These sides perform great in league’s matches. Of course, they will do their best to defeat Esteghlal FC to at least prove their skills and talents. However, Esteghlal is enjoying high quality and experienced players. So, we can easily win the next matches, if we try hard.” Khosro Heydari added.

Currently, Esteghlal is the leading club in Iran Pro League. The team has garnered 64 points from 32 matches while Sepahan has accumulated only one point less than Blues in 33 games. It’s worth mentioning that, Khosro Heydari has won Iran Pro League’s title twice with both rivals, Sepahan and Esteghlal.

Khosro Heydari started his youth career in Esteghlal academy. He then moved to Aboomoslem. In 2008, he signed with Esteghlal. After two years, he moved to Sepahan and played one season in Isfahan. Finally, Heydari rejoined Esteghlal in 2011.
