Iran's High Inflation Rate Causes Various Crimes

Head of Mashhad Chamber of Commerce, Gholam Hossein Shafei, says the high inflation rate in Iran causes various crimes. He also asked the local government to work out in order to reduce the inflation and unemployment rate.

“I think the Judiciary system of Iran must study the outcomes of the current economic issues in the country. But, according to our initial surveys in Khorasan Razavi province, these problems are the main roots of various crimes.” Gholam Hossein Shafei told a group of reporters in Mash’had on Sunday.

“Iran has a great potential to become the hub of economy in the Middle East region. But the West-engineered sanctions against our economy hinder us to achieve our goals which were defined by local development plans.” Shafei added. In recent months, economists have questioned the performance of Iranian president and his deputies regarding the economy of Iran.

Gholam Hossein Shafei went on to say that the total volume of exports from Khorasan Razavi province has been decreased significantly.

Currently, Iran is experiencing difficulties in its economy. The country has been hit severely by financial embargoes set by the United States, Israel and their European allies. However, the hard-liner politicians believe that these sanctions are “good” for the country because it helps businesses to flourish in “hard conditions”. Iran had stopped exporting gas to European countries, except Turkey, for their “unfair” policies against Islamic Republic.
