Currently the economy of Iran is not in good conditions due to U.S. backed financial sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Iran is pursuing its controversial nuclear program but the United States government and European Union believe the country is developing nuclear weapons. So Iran’s economy has critical situations and the local currency is losing its value against foreign currencies on daily basis.

To address the current problems, Iranian government holds sessions with the parliament to find best solutions for these conditions. “According to a decree issued by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei we are cooperating with Majlis to uproot the current economic issues. Base on the reached agreements, the government is allowed to help people financially before Nowruz.” Iranian Government Spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham told reporters in a press conference.

“In fact the government is insisting on implementation of second phase of subsidy reform plan. If the other side approves our decision, we think, most of the current problems will be solved easily. We are working hard to finalize our negotiations with parliament.” Gholam Hossein Elham continued. A large number of Iranian MPs are opposed with the second phase of subsidy reform plan.

“By the way we will do our best to help Iranian people as they are suffering from several problems. This is our only goal.” Elham added and he denied the published rumors about the probable pricing of different items in the country.

Gholam Hossein Elham also rejected the reports suggest that he is preparing to announce his nomination for Iran’s 2013 presidential election.  He was a member of the Guardian Council and former Minister of Justice upon the death of Jamal Karimi-Rad.
