Iran international Hadi Aghily announced that he may return to his former club, Sepahan FC, at the end of current season. At this time, Aghily is a member of Qatar SC in Qatar’s Stars League. He had joined this club on 22 June 2012. Aghily had penned a one-year contract with the Doha-based team.
Apparently Sebastião Lazaroni, the Brazilian head coach of Qatar SC, is completely satisfied with Hadi’s performance, but the officials of this Qatari club are not interested in Hadi’s services. “Continuing my career in Qatar SC is not a priority for me. I might return to Sepahan FC. However, I need to negotiate with the authorities of the Isfahan-based football club in this regard.” Aghily informed Pars Herald. He also mentioned that his family wants him to return to Iran.
It’s worth mentioning that Sepahan FC is in a bug need for a high quality defender. Hadi Aghily used to play for Sepahan from 2004 to 2011. He appeared in 176 matches for this club scoring 14 goals, mostly from penalty kicks.
Because of the exchange volatilities in Iranian markets, local players usually prefer to play for foreign-based football clubs. The average income of Iranian players in foreign league is far better than their earnings in Iran’s Persian Gulf League.
Hadi Aghily started his youth career in Rah Ahan and Persepolis youth academies. He joined Saipa in 2001. After 3 years he moved to Sepahan where he won the Hazfi Cup and also played in AFC Champions League final in 2007. He also played in FIFA Club World Cup in 2007.
