Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the current mayor of Tehran, says the leaders of “sedition” (Fetneh) are not allowed to act any roles for the fate of country. According to his words, Iranian community will never forgive them due to their disgusting activities against the Islamic Republic.
“That small group of people had aimed to topple the Islamic Republic’s system and the Iranian community beside political parties has eliminated their former influence and power.” the ex-chief of Tehran’s police, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said. Reports suggest that he is going to announce his nomination for the upcoming presidential election in Iran.
Ghalibaf didn’t hint to the names of Mehdi Karoubi and Mir Hossein Mousavi but he continued: “Some people ask what if they express regret about their past activities. We must not forget that their goal was subverting the system and our divine rules. So they are guilty politicians and don’t have any place between Iranians.”
Ghalibaf was a candidate in the Iranian presidential election of 2005, and was being considered to be supported by some factions of the conservative alliance because of his popularity with both wings. However, in the final days before the election, the major support went to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
