Asadollah Asgar-Oladi, a famous Iranian businessman, believes the local government has failed to apply right economic policies. He says the current high inflation rate of Iran is because of the poor management and performance of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
“Unfortunately Western countries have imposed rigid embargoes on Iran’s economy, and this has led to many problems inside the country. But the poor performance of Iranian government has deteriorated the conditions. High inflation rate has caused high unemployment rate, and of course Iranians are not satisfied with these situations.” Asadollah Asgar-Oladi told reporters on Sunday.
The influential tradesman also talked about oil exports revenues. “In recent years, Iran has exported some $400 billion worth of oil and petrochemical materials. However, local government couldn’t manage the country properly despite its high revenue.”
Asgar-Oladi asked government to distribute basic goods between Iranians rather than storing them. “After eliminating subsidized currency for importing basic goods, local shops and stores have become empty of important goods. In this condition, Iranian government should apply the best solution.”
A few days ago Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Asadollah Asgar-Oladi of storing basic goods illegally during his speech in Ahvaz. It’s good to know that Asgar-Oladi is amongst the world’s wealthiest Iranians, and was named the third richest Iranian in the world and is the second wealthiest in Iran, with an estimated wealth in excess of $9 billion. He has close relations with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
